Question
“ …I understand from reading old bird magazines that breeders used either Wheat Germ Oil or Cod Liver Oil during their breeding season. Why should I use Breeding Aid when it is more expensive?”
Answer
“…If you were comparing only Vitamin A, D3 and E then Wheat Germ Oil might be a fine choice. Breeding Aid however contains 3 key additional ingredients, Lioleic acid, Palmitic acid and Oleic
Product Description
Breeding Aid replenishes the fatty acids necessary for normal egg production and good hatchability.
Indications: Breeding Aid contains a blend of essential Fatty Acids (including Oleic and Linoleic Acids) that are used in the production of eggs and the growth of embryos. Most seeds have a low level of these essential Fatty Acids and hen birds rapidly deplete their body stores resulting in reduced breeding results.
To increase the potency of the Breeding Aid, the oil blend is also fortified with stabilized Vitamins A, D and E.
Note: Breeding Aid is particularly useful in smaller birds, which have large clutches or multiple clutches in a season, such as Budgies, Finches and Canaries. The Breeding Aid replenishes the fatty acids necessary for normal egg production and good hatchability. Breeding Aid may be used in conjunction with other vitamins, minerals, tonics and medications.
Directions: – 20 mL per Kg of seed. Add the required amount of Breeding Aid to seed and mix well to ensure an even spread of the oil. Leave the seed for 24 hours before feeding to the birds, (it takes some hours for the oil to penetrate through to the seed kernel).
Store the supplemented seed in a cool place and do not prepare more than will be eaten in about 3 days.
In fussy eaters it may be necessary to stat with smaller amounts (5-10mls per Kg) to introduce the birds to the fully supplemented seed.
